Yesterday we were whooping with delight over the reported news that dancer Aliona Vilani would be returning to Strictly Come Dancing.
However, Aliona has since taken to Twitter and crushed our hopes.
The dancer, who quit the show after winning with singer Jay McGuinness, took to the social media website to clear up the news that she would be returning to Strictly to assist with choreography.
She wrote, ‘Sorry but I will not be doing any choreography for this SCD2016 and I will not be stepping in for any female pros’.
Boo!

However, our moods were lifted with news that she will still oblige the Strictly tradition of last year’s champion opening the new series with their winning partner.
She added, ‘Only rumour that is true is that @JayMcGuiness & I will be dancing our winner dance on the launch SCD2016 #excited’.
Hurry up, September – we can’t wait!
