Viewers were left in awe - and slightly heartbroken - last night, after Educating Greater Manchester told the story of one wonderful grandad.
Tom was featured in the programme as he liaised with staff at Harrop Fold School in Salford to improve the attendance and behaviour of his Year 11 granddaughter Kodie. The hands-on grandad was a hit with viewers.
Tom and Kodie
Things took an emotional turn when Tom explained that he raised Kodie after the death of her mother (his daughter) and became tearful speaking about the similarities between them.
We learned that Year 11 Kodie self-harms due to her anxiety and unhappiness, and Tom spoke about being there to help her through.
Alongside Tom and Kodie’s story, the episode featured pregnant 15-year-old Mia, and Katelyn, a 12-year-old with behavioural issues.MORE: JOANNE FROGGATT STARS IN THRILLER SERIES FROM THE CREATORS OF THE MISSING
