Valerie Bertinelli seems to be working on something completely new ... and she's getting real about some fears she has about this career venture.

Over the last few months, fans have seen Valerie take on the world of television as a lifestyle expert on The Drew Barrymore Show and a host on the GSN series Bingo Blitz. But in a new post uploaded on Instagram, the star teased how she is getting back into the world of acting with a new project for the Lifetime Network. And while she couldn't give anything away about what she's busy working on, she did note that the work she's doing is bringing up some feelings she didn't expect ahead of time.

"I’m starting a new project next week for @lifetimetv 😁🥹 and I’m so grateful if not a bit anxious," she wrote in an emotional caption alongside a bare-faced selfie on June 9. "It’s an amazing script written by an amazing writer and the cast is beyond my wildest dreams. It’s a beautiful role where I must break down all my barriers, shut out the outside noise and be openly vulnerable. It’s the only way to let the real, authentic emotions flow."

But that's not all she had to say on the subject. Valerie also acknowledged that while she has nerves about the new project, she knows it's coming from a place of wanting to do the best she can in this new career move.

"I know, in reality, this is just my process and I’ll be fine," she added. "I’ve been doing this for over 50 years, (it’s like riding a bike, right?) but I just love this script so much and I wanna do it justice ... So, feel the fear and do it anyway. Transfer the fear and anxiety into joy and excitement. They’re the same sort of feelings just on a different spectrum. Gah! Verbal vomiting …🤪 Anyway, these are my thoughts on a manic Monday. 😬."

When fans saw Valerie's vulnerable post about the latest step she's taking in her career, they bombarded the comments to give her an overwhelming amount of support.

"You got this!!!!! Like riding a bike❤️❤️❤️," one person wrote in the comments. "Yay; I’m super excited for ya! Can’t wait to hear more about it 😊," another declared. "WOO HOO!!! Can’t wait to see you doing what you do best. 🙌👏❤️❤️," a different follower added.

No matter what the job may be, we're certainly proud of Valerie for being real about this new era in her acting life! And we're absolutely ready to see what's next for her.
