First served in London’s Buck’s club in 1921, the Buck’s Fizz drink was created as an excuse to begin drinking earlier in the day.
It consists of two parts Champagne or sparkling wine to one part orange juice. Legend has it that the original Buck’s club Buck’s Fizz recipe contained additional ingredients known only to the in-house bartenders.

This really divided our panel with its strong lemon and green apple driven, sparkling wine aroma. The wine was very tangy with loads of green apple and slightly tart orange and grapefruit flavours. Balanced sweetness, very small bubbles that dissipate quickly. Some found this too tart for their palate.

An appealing, sweet, tropical nose of orange, pineapple and mango follows on to a very sweet and confected orange flavour on the palate. The cocktail had small, very lively bubbles, which some found aggressive.
