Our food and drink writer, Mel Giandzi, gets to try hundreds of products every year, so when she tells us what her must-have product from the Amazon Prime Day alcohol deals for 2023 is, we take the advice seriously.
Her top pick? The irresistible Italian liqueur called Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto. Ultimately it's a bergamot flavoured liqueur and is considered an aperitif - so perfect to enjoy in a cocktail such as a spritz, a margarita or a white negroni before a meal, or it can be enjoyed with antipasti or canapés.
Italicus is a blend of Bergamot from Calabria and citrons from Sicily. Plus, it also contains chamomile, lavender, yellow rose, lemon balm and gentian. It's aromatic and lightly spicy which is balanced against the floral sweetness and slight bitterness.
Italicus is currently part of the Amazon Prime Day alcohol deals for 2023 and is currently on offer with 17% off the RRP! The 70cl bottle is now £25.99 and is beautifully designed with a blue-tinged rippled body and a black and white striped bottle top.
Italicus have shared its Spritz cocktail recipe, and you can try it at home if you grab yourself a bottle in the sale.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Italicus
- 100ml Prosecco
- 3 green olives, to garnish
Instructions:
- Add Italicus and plenty of ice into a wine glass
- Top up with Prosecco and garnish with olives on a cocktail stick
Mel's top tip? Once the bottle is empty, she likes to reuse it as a carafe for water, or a vase for flowers. The bottle top also works well as a stopper for a bottle of wine that you may not have finished and want to save for later.
