Gin 1689 is unique gin based on an original 300-year-old recipe that it's founders spent years hunting for within the British Library archives. It's from the time of King William III of England, also known as William of Orange, and Queen Mary II, namesake for this pink edition.
Like the original, The Queen Mary Edition is described by the brand as: "A classic juniper style spirit with botanicals such as dried quince and pippin (apple), lemon and orange peel, nutmeg, aniseed, and clove. The centuries old recipe had the full ingredient list, but the measurements were written in a code by the Distillers of London, not keen on sharing their special recipe. It proved to be uncrackable. The two founders had Dutch master distillers take the recipe and recreate it for them. Now that's a drink with a story.
