The best iPads to buy for streaming, browsing and reading
Apple’s tablets do far more than just FaceTime calls

You may recall the jokes at the launch of Apple’s tablets 15 years ago. “iPads are nothing more than big, glorified iPhones,” according to detractors. Well, we’re here to tell you that these devices have not only come a long way since 2010, they also now come with so much computing power that they’re more than capable of replacing your laptop.
If you need a bigger screen than your smartphone but don’t need a full-on laptop or monitor, the best iPads are ideal. They’re lightweight and capable, can connect to wireless mice and keyboards, and work better for multitasking. If you add an Apple Pencil, they’re amazing for note-taking or drawing, too. And, let’s face it, that larger display means they’re better for browsing websites or watching films, TV shows, or cooking videos.
