The kettle has a 360-degree swivel base and ergonomically designed handle so pouring a cuppa is effortless. Plus, at its full 1.5-litre capacity, it only takes three minutes to boil – making it ideal for dinnertime too.

The matching toaster is a two-slice model that achieves consistently browned toast every time. Adjustable slots make it great for chunky farmhouse bread, too.

The two-slice toaster achieved the joint best score in our lab test and impressed with its range of functions including the ‘lift and look’ feature that lets you check on your bread mid-toasting. Plus, there’s a memory function so once you’ve found that perfect setting, you’ll never lose it again.

While the kettle didn’t score as highly, it’s still a great investment – particularly for smaller households who only boil one cup at a time, as it only took 45 seconds. It also has a ‘keep warm’ function and variable temperature control.

There’s no denying that the set is expensive, but with all the extra features on board, it’s worthwhile investing if your budget can stretch.

Compact, but with a decent 1.7L capacity, Salter’s kettle is a good option if you don’t have much counter space. It’s packed full of fantastic features like a boil-dry sensor and an auto shut-off function, but it has a minimum capacity of 600ml, so it’s not the best pick for small households.

A four-slice toaster completes the matching set, and has adjustable slot sizes and a bagel setting, making it a real crowd pleaser come breakfast time. In our tests, it scored highly for evenly browned slices and intuitive controls.

This is another great combo from Salter that will make family breakfast times a breeze. The four-slice toaster produced evenly browned farmhouse slices, bagels and crumpets with ease, though at a slightly slower rate than others we’ve tried.

The kettle was speedy though, taking under three-and-a-half minutes to boil its maximum capacity of 1.7 litres. Our main niggle was that its exterior got quite hot when boiling, so be careful when picking it up to pour.

Getting colour into your kitchen isn’t always easy, but an easy solution is to pick appliances with a bit of personality, and this kettle and toaster set does just that with its bright pink, yellow and green colourways.

In testing, the kettle shone thanks its lightweight design, easy pour spout, and comfortable handle, while the toaster picked up marks for its straightforward controls and good coverage. We’d have liked some more functions like a bagel or keep warm setting, but for basic toasting, this is a good value pick.

Zwilling’s kettle has a great capacity range so you can easily brew a single cup or serve an entire household for afternoon tea. It took an average of four minutes and 40 seconds to boil its full capacity though, and it was quite heavy to carry – however, the ergonomic handle helped with pouring.

The matching two-slice toaster wasn’t overly consistent when batch toasting but delivered an excellent single slice with even browning. Testers also liked the soft-lift function that stops the toast jumping out when it pops up.
