Black Friday 2024 is here, and it’s the perfect opportunity to invest in a sturdy suitcase for all those sunshine breaks in 2025 (yes, we're already counting down), or a handy cabin bag for frequent flyers.

Quality luggage can be a real investment, but, helpfully, Carl Friedrik is offering 30% off its entire range until Monday 2 December. We can vouch for its luxurious, durable cases (we've tested them extensively at the Good Housekeeping Institute) – they'd make the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one, or yourself, of course.

The luxury luggage brand offers everything from hardshell suitcases to convenient card holders, so you can fully kit yourself out ahead of your next getaway. Heads will certainly turn as you glide through the airport.

But with so much choice, it can be quite overwhelming, so we've rounded up our experts' top-rated cases below, along with some of the buys our editors can't get enough of.

Carl Friedrik The Check-In

UK Approved(Esquire,Red,HB,GH,Country Living,Prima)
The Check-In

Score: 83/100

A staple in Carl Friedrik's collection, the Check-In bag is the ultimate travel companion. The chic (and robust) aluminium finish will look great with your airport outfit and protect all your valuables in the hold. The integrated locks are very secure, and TSA approved too, so you can relax and thoroughly enjoy that 10am mimosa in the departure lounge.

It scored full marks in our waterproof tests too, thanks to the watertight frame. The wheels also proved durable, and if that isn’t enough to convince you, then maybe the lifetime warranty will.

Carl Friedrik Carry On X

UK Approved(Esquire,Red,HB,GH,Country Living,Prima)
Carry On X

Score: 80/100

A smaller version of the Check-In, this compact case is the perfect cabin bag for shorter trips. It has an external zip pocket for storing laptops, giving easy access to in-flight entertainment if needed. Or emails, if it’s a business trip!

Our testers sang its praises, saying it manoeuvred well and the wheels are silent. Like the Check-In, has a sturdy and super secure aluminium frame. Check your airline’s baggage regulations before you travel with it though, to make sure you can take it onboard – you don’t want to start your holiday with an additional luggage cost.

You can secure it for just over £300 this Black Friday – you might as well book your discounted hotel stay and flights at the same time.

Carl Friedrik Compact Weekender

Compact Weekender

The clue is in the name for this soft leather duffle; it’s the perfect size for those long weekends, when a big suitcase is a bit too much. It has one large main compartment, which is spacious enough for a couple of outfits, secure internal pockets, and one easy-access, zipped external pocket.

There's over £100 off all four colourways, but our personal favourite is the stunning deep olive.

Carl Friedrik Palissy Overnight

Palissy Overnight

If you travel a lot for work, this bag is the perfect business partner. It's halfway between a briefcase and an overnighter, and is made from luxurious Italian leather, so you'll certainly look the part. And there’s dedicated storage for a laptop or tablet, as well as enough room for a spare pair of clothes.

If you’re going further afield and also have a suitcase, then the Smart Holder is a useful addition – you can use to clip the Palissy onto a trolley.

Carl Friedrik Palissy Weekend

Palissy Weekend

If you love a city break, then the Palissy Weekend is a great option. Its solid, upright style means it really holds its shape, protecting your essentials within, and it’s made from premium, smooth vachetta leather too. It's currently sold out in all but the black version, but fingers crossed the other colourways will be back in stock soon.

Carl Friedrik The Cardprotector

The Cardprotector

Gone are the days of thick wallets bulging out of your trouser pockets, thanks to compact card holders. Not only is this one sleek and stylish, but it also has a smart RFID-blocking aluminium core that protects your card details from being skimmed by electronic thieves.

Though it’s small, you can still fit up to five cards inside, and they slide out in one quick motion thanks to the lever technology. Dangerous for the days you're getting tap happy in the departure lounge! At under £100, it makes a great stocking filler if you're feeling generous.
