Tested February 2018

The Hoover Sonix Evo Pets CH51_SV20 001 has a lightweight and compact design which is straightforward to use. It comes with an array of accessories, including a Turbo Brush for pet hair removal, all of which can be attached to the body for easy storage.

This model works best on laminate flooring and has great reach to edges and corners. The Turbo Brush was brilliant at collecting pet hair, needing just two sweeps to collect it all, but the standard Floor Head was poor in comparison. It also performs poorly in terms of dust pick up on carpet and tends to struggle on floorboards too. In addition, its reach could be more impressive on the stairs, as the hose covers just nine steps.

GHI Expert Verdict

While the design is quite user-friendly, this vacuum cleaner could perform better on both carpet and floorboards. However, it is reasonably priced and would suit a home with mainly laminate flooring.
