With a pleasing, compact build and an easy-to-empty dust canister, the Vax Air Stretch Pet CCQSASV1P1 comes with a number of useful features in its design. The most obvious advantage of which is the distance the stretch hose can reach when stretched - with this attachment, it can easily cover a full flight of stairs! It also comes with a turbo head, meaning it is designed to face tougher messes, including pet hair removal. That's not to say the design is flawless, however; no accessories or tools can be stored on board this vacuum cleaner and it comes with two separate hoses (stretch and regular), which is quite a lot to store! The hoses also tend to be quite tricky to remove/swap, so if possible, you should try to stick to one or the other.
During our tests, it scored decent marks across the board, although there was room for improvement. It performed much better on laminate flooring than it did on general carpet and floorboards, and it achieved good results in terms of pet hair removal. We noted that the level of suction does make it particularly hard to glide on floorboards. Given this, it is an ideal vacuum cleaner for those with pets as well as those who face difficulties with vacuuming the stairs.

GHI Expert Verdict
While this vacuum cleaner didn't score very highly for its efforts on carpet and floorboards, it still achieved decent results across the board in our tests. It would ultimately suit those who struggle with pet hair removal as well as reaching up the stairs.

- Dust collects in the lid of the canister as you empty it
- The hoses are tricky to remove
