Why our experts love the Philips Steam & Go

Scoring an outstanding 90/100 in our Good Housekeeping Institute lab, our testers loved how effortlessly the Philips Steam & Go breezed through small to medium creases, saying it was blissfully easy to use. It preheats in a jiffy (just 29 seconds in the lab), and the wide head makes quick work of larger pieces of material.

Despite its small tank, our testers were pleased with how long it lasted before needing a refill, which means you should be able to steam what you need in one go. There aren't lots of accessories, but the protective glove is a nice addition.

The only slight niggle we could find is that it's hard to get into intricate areas due to the large head and you can't lock the trigger switch, so you have to hold it down throughout steaming.

However, for a quick refresh, whether you've realised the dress you really want to wear to work is looking a little crumpled, or your going out look isn't as pristine as you'd like, you won’t do better than the Philips Steam & Go. And at 35% off for Amazon Prime Day, there’s no better time to pick one up!

How we test

We review clothes steamers in our lab just as you would use them at home. We get all our crumpled clothes out and start steaming! We time how long each model takes to heat up and judge how well they remove creases across cotton, polycotton, linen, silk and viscose. Throughout, we also consider ease of use, design and quality of instructions.
