Our experts' verdict on the Tefal Pure Pop Clothes Steamer
We test clothes steamers in our lab just as you would use them at home. We get out all our wrinkled washing and get to work! Our testing process involves timing how long the steamers take to heat up and judging how effectively they remove creases across linen, silk, cotton, polycotton and viscose. We also consider ease of use, design and quality of instructions.
Scoring an excellent 87/100 in our Good Housekeeping Institute lab, our testers loved how sleek and slim the Tefal clothes steamer was. It tackled creases effortlessly in both durable and delicate fabrics, performing particularly well on cotton, viscose and silk – making it ideal for your holiday capsule wardrobe. Linen just took longer to achieve pristine results.
It is a little heavy when the water tank is full and it spat slightly in testing, so we would suggest leaving some time before steaming and heading out the door, to allow any damp spots to dry.
However, you can use it vertically or horizontally, without the need for an ironing board. We also loved how you can turn over the soft pad to switch to lint removal mode – ideal if stray pet hairs often turn up on your outfits!
There were just three marks between the Tefal Pure Pop and our joint top scorers in our best clothes steamers round-up, and it’s by far the most compact. It's the unsung holiday wardrobe hero we'll be packing into our suitcase this year.
Oh, and it comes in a choice of red, yellow and teal. Who says steaming can't be fun?
