If you haven't bought one of the Good Housekeeping Institute's best air fryers yet, why ever not? But seriously, air fryers are essentially mini super ovens, making them perfect for rustling up a mid-week treat in minutes. And if you haven't got one yet, now is an excellent time to shop with many of the top models currently discounted in the Amazon Prime Day sale!

The most-shopped air fryers are often discounted during sale periods and there’s one particular model I always look out for – the Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer. It's our experts' joint best air fryer and – good news – it's currently discounted by 35%, making it the cheapest it's ever been. The only other time the air fryer was this cheap was Black Friday last year.

As the Good Housekeeping Institute’s senior homes and lifestyle writer, I’ve covered many sale events, so I know a thing or two about the products most likely to be reduced – and which ones are genuinely worth the money. While I can typically predict items like our best vacuums and best carpet cleaners will have money off, it’s usually difficult to know exactly which models will be on sale until the sales start… The Ninja Foodi Max is one exception though: it’s always discounted during sale periods and that's because shoppers absolutely love it – it practically runs out the door.

What to read next

If you've already done some research on what's out there in the air frying world, you'll likely recognise the Ninja name. We've even written about the best Ninja air fryers. The brand's appliances are the market leaders in this category – and the Foodi Max is one of its most popular machines. Chances are, you’ll have seen it at a friend's house, heard people bragging about its moist yet crispy chicken, or even seen it in all its glory on TV. If you’re tempted, I’m here to tell you: yes, it's worth it.

Where can I buy the Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer?

Amazon usually offers the most competitive prices on this machine, especially during its sales. Amazon Prime Day is currently underway and runs until midnight on 11 July, which means you've got a limited window to shop the best-selling Ninja at its discounted price. If that’s not a sign to grab it now while it’s still in stock, I don’t know what is.

Still not sure if it's the one for you? Read on for the Good Housekeeping Institute's full verdict.

The experts' verdict: Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone Air Fryer review

Scoring 95/100 in the the Good Housekeeping Institute's tests is no mean feat, but this powerful Ninja air fryer did just that. It joins the Breville Halo Steam Air Fryer, Haier I-Master Series 5 Air Fryer, and Ninja's newest air fryer, the Ninja Crispi at the top of our experts' rankings.

The generous 9.5-litre capacity will make cooking for a family a piece of cake. You’re armed with two baskets (both 4.25-litres) and six cooking modes, including max crisp, air fry, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate, as well as sync and match functions (the sync setting programmes both drawers to finish at the same time, while match uses the same mode and cooking duration for both drawers at the push of a button).

Our testers praised the cooker's perfectly crispy chips (while still being fluffy on the inside), made with no oil, and were impressed by how it evenly baked a batch of cakes in just 15 minutes too. Dishwasher-safe parts also mean clean-up couldn’t be simpler.

It’s a fairly hefty appliance weighing 8.8kg and measuring 32.5 x 41.5 x 27 centimetres, so it can be a pain if you’re storing it away every time. However, if you’re using it most days, then it will quickly earn its permanent spot on your kitchen counter.

Need some air fryer accessories so you can get cooking right away? I've got you covered on that front too…
