A joint winner in the Good Housekeeping Institute best pillows roundup, REM-Fit's Cool Gel Pillow is brimming with impressive features. It’s made from adaptive memory foam to support the neck and spine – whatever your preferred sleeping position – along with a cooling gel insert and Re-Ax fibres in the cover to wick away moisture and regulate your body temperature.

Testers confirmed it moulded to their heads quickly and effectively, providing plenty of support and preventing aches and pains. They also said it was “soft and luxurious” to sleep on, and the outer cover washed extremely well, with no noticeable changes in quality.

Though not everyone noticed its cooling capabilities, it scored well for breathability, and everyone said they would buy it again and recommend it to others. What more could you want?

This mattress protector, which is made from 100% Tencel fibres, only dropped a few points in our tests. Tencel is known for its moisture-wicking and hypoallergenic capabilities and feels incredibly smooth to touch. The protector also boasts a ‘miracle membrane’, which blocks common allergens for a more comfortable night's sleep.

Our testers were impressed with its performance – it kept them nice and cool overnight (no night sweats reported) and it added an extra layer of comfort, too. It fitted their mattress like a glove and maintained its quality after several goes in the washing machine. There was a tiny bit of rustling, but nothing too distracting.

The mattress proved popular with the front, side and back sleepers on our panel, who raved about the comfort and support it offered. “It’s the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on,” said one tester, noting the snug finish and even weight distribution.

Score: 87/100

The brand’s 600 Lux Hybrid mattress, which features 4,000 pocket springs and a zoned open-cell memory foam layer to provide full-body support, was a big hit with our testing panel. Everyone said they would continue using the medium-firm design following the trial period, and they’d happily recommend it to family and friends.

It features an edge-to-edge design, so you don't have to worry about rolling off the end, and great motion isolation, limiting movement so you won’t get disturbed if your partner is tossing and turning. “When you turn over, the mattress doesn’t bounce at all,” commented one panellist.

Testers were also extremely impressed with its temperature-regulating capabilities, saying it kept them cool and comfortable as they snoozed, with no overheating reported.
