The GHI trialed 19 hair masks, asking our panel of testers to try them out and assess them. We also used the Diastron machine in our beauty lab to assess the smoothness of hair switches before and after treatment to find out which mask is the most nourishing. So if you are in need of an intensive treatment for your hair, here are our top performers...

The blend of ingredients – macadamia oil, argan oil, tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extracts – aims to rejuvenate and rebuild the hair, leaving it deeply nourished and conditioned. This option is ideal for dry or damaged hair. Over 80% of testers said their hair looked shinier and smoother, as well as less frizzy. The rich texture meant that it was easy to use and distribute over the scalp, too.

This innovative sheet mask scored highly in both our lab and panel tests, where testers agreed hair felt smoother and looked less frizzy after use.

Using ingredients such as argan, coconut and macadamia oils, this mask aims to strengthen and condition while you sleep, and provides a hydration hit. It also works to repair dryness, frizz and damage. The fruit-scented mask scored well in our lab test and the panel noticed a visible difference to their hair. Over 84% said the mask was easy to use and wash out, and left hair feeling smoother.
Garnier Ultimate Blends Argan Oil & Almond Cream Dry Hair Treatment Mask

This mask is an intensive treatment for dry, unruly or damaged hair. With extracts of argan oil and almond cream, the vegan formula aims to intensely nourish, soften and restore manageability to hair. It can be left on for one to five minutes, depending on your hair's needs, and it scored four out of five in our lab tests. From our panel, 84% of testers agreed that hair felt smoother and the majority found it easy to distribute over the scalp and loved its sweet scent.
