If silky smooth locks are what you're after, but find using heated tools, changes in the weather or an especially humid day can all leave your hair looking a little dry sometimes and cause dreaded frizz, you'll want to know about this.
Curly hair, especially, is often prone to this - but if you’re at your wits’ end and brushing or straightening doesn’t seem to help, don’t worry. There are plenty of anti-frizz products out there that can turn dry and damaged strands into sleek and glossy locks - and the GHI has been busy testing them to find the best of the bunch.
In the top spot is Redken’s Frizz Dismiss cream with a score of 87/100. It’s suitable for all hair types and, as it helps protect against temperatures of up to 230C, you won’t have to give up your beloved straighteners to tackle dryness.
Designed to hydrate hair and boost its resilience, this is a leave-in cream that you use after you’ve washed your hair. Just rub a small amount into clean, damp, towel-dried tresses and style as normal.
This product scored full marks in the GHI lab test, effectively and immediately reducing frizz - and the home testers agreed. After use, hair was sleeker, flyaways were smoothed and locks felt softer and much more manageable. It worked for a good six hours, after which time, a spritz of water was all that was needed to reactivate the effects.
Testers also enjoyed the product’s fruity scent - but warned not to overdo it, as using too much left hair looking greasy.
