The Duchess of Cambridge has had her third child and royal fans watched Kate and William's departure from the hospital last night, when they revelaed baby number three to the world.
Born at just after 11am on 23 April, the new prince shares his birthday with another member of the royal family.
Lady Gabriella Windsor was born in the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital, where Kate is in labour, on this day in 1981. Gabriella, who is a freelance writer and turns 37 this year, is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent (he is the Queen's first cousin) and will be the new baby's third cousin.

The baby also has a patriotic birthday, as 23 April marks St. George's Day. It celebrates England's patron saint, who is known by legend as being a soldier in the Roman army who fought a dragon. The flag of Saint George – a red cross on a white background – is the flag of England and features in the Union Jack.
Other notable events on this patriotic date are the birth and death of William Shakespeare in 1564 and 1616 and the crowning of Queen Anne, the daughter of James VII, which took place at Westminster Abbey in 1702.
The baby just missed arriving on the Queen's birthday, which was on Saturday, and will also arrive just before William and Kate's wedding anniversary. The couple will celebrate seven years of marriage on Sunday 29 April, while Princess Charlotte turns three on 2 May.
