Strictly Come Dancing will have its first ever Paso-Doble-a-thon next weekend.

The reality dancing series said goodbye to Jonnie Peacock tonight (November 19), alongside the reveal that the remaining seven couples will face off in a Paso Doble competition.

The gist is this: the remaining celebs will all take to the dancefloor at the same time to dance the Paso Doble with their professional partners.

One by one, the couples will be eliminated by the judges until just one couple is left standing – and the longer a couple stays in, the more extra points they will win.

It's no doubt an enticing incentive for our celebs, as the winner of the Paso-Doble-a-thon will secure seven extra points to their overall score.

And it's also going to be pretty fun to watch, because who doesn't love a Doble?

The news shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, since the contestants have endured similar challenges in previous years.

Indeed, last year's contestants faced a Cha-Cha-Cha Challenge, with previous years' celebrities facing off in a Waltz-a-Thon and Quickstep-a-thon respectively.

Mollie King & AJ Pritchard, Susan Calman & Kevin Clifton, Alexandra Burke & Gorka Marquez, Debbie McGee, & Giovanni Pernice, Gemma Atkinson & Aljaž Škorjanec, Davood Ghadami & Nadiya Bychkova and Joe McFadden & Katya Jones remain in the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday (November 25) on BBC One.
