It’s arguably one of TV’s most iconic moments: a happy Carrie Bradshaw wonders down a busy NYC road in an adorable tutu dress, only to get splashed by a passing bus.
But it turns out that the popular Sex and the City intro almost didn’t happen in the way that we know and love it.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Carrie in the hit show, took to Instagram to share a video of an alternative opening credit filmed for the TV series – and boy, is it strange.
Firstly, we can’t get past the fact that Carrie has shunned her iconic pink tutu dress in favour of baby blue midi dress. NOPE, so wrong.
Next, she walks through the street and seems to trip on her heels before seeing herself on the side of a parked bus.
And then, it finishes on Carrie doing a weird half-hearted twirl.
Writing alongside the video, SJP said, ‘Lost footage. The alternative and never used title sequence from “SATC”.
‘A really nice memory. X, SJ’.
While we’ll always love Carrie and SATC, we’re so glad they stuck with the tutu option! It wouldn’t have been the same without it…
