As Meghan Markle has already discovered, dating a member of the royal family comes with an intense amount of scrutiny, and few people understand that better than Mike Tindall.
The former England rugby player married Zara Phillips in 2011, and has experienced first-hand the level of attention the royals create.

Of course, sportsman Mike and actress Meghan are both used to the limelight, but as Mike explained to The Mirror, once you join the royals it’s taken to a whole new level.
Mike, a ‘commoner’ like Meghan, said: ‘It comes with a lot of history and the family that it is. It’s obviously nerve-racking.
‘But she has been under enough scrutiny and pressure in her day-to-day life so I’m sure she will get through it. She will be fine.
‘As long as they are both happy that’s all that you can ask for. She’ll do absolutely fine.’
According to the newspaper, Mike and Zara are expected to meet Meghan in the coming months. Mike said he’s keen to get the gossip on Meghan’s TV show Suits. ‘It’s a very good show. I will definitely try and get the inside scoop on it,’ he said.
