We all got teary eyed watching Meghan Markle and Patrick J Adams finally walk down the aisle on Suits, and now Patrick can enjoy watching his co-star marry for real ahead of her royal wedding this weekend.

Meghan's former on-screen husband has just arrived in the UK for her wedding to Prince Harryin Windsor on Saturday - and fittingly marked his visit by hitting England's oldest pub.

Sharing the picture on Instagram, the 36-year-old star added the caption: 'I have historically ale’d.'

Rick Hoffman - who plays law partner Louis Litt in the hit legal drama - told his followers on Instagram: 'Just checking in with you, just finishing up my portion of episode 804 and then heading east for some special event and I'm very excited about that.'

Patrick has previously defended Meghan after she was racially abused by an American politician, publicly commending her 'power, strength, honour and compassion' in a supportive tweet.

He also revealed he had to leave Instagram after the public frenzy that followed Meghan's engagement to Prince Harry last year.

After marking the 100th episode of Suits (and Meghan's birthday) by posting a cute photo of himself receiving a kiss on the cheek from Meghan, he admitted that the reaction was too much to handle.

'I posted this old photo I had found of Meghan and I on set,' he said. 'I went to bed, and woke up in the morning and realised "Oh, yeah. I live in a world where you can't post things about Meghan.'

He also tweeted a very funny reaction to Meghan and Harry's engagement.
