Viewers were left impressed, inspired and in floods of tears after last night’s Educating Greater Manchester, which featured an incredible story of friendship.

The first episode of the series introduced us to 12-year-old best friends Jack and Rani, who attend Harrop Fold School in Salford. Rani moved from war-ravaged Syria to the Greater Manchester city, joining the pupils at Harrop Fold.

Despite Rani being shy and not speaking much English, Jack made it his mission to include him and the pair quickly became firm friends.
