New Year’s resolutions rarely last beyond January despite our best intentions.

But if you’re not a fan of thinking of things to cut out or stop doing then former Bake Off champ Nadiya Hussain tweeted a sweet, alternative take which is worth considering.

What does she suggest giving up?

What to read next

Nothing.

In fact, Nadiya suggest that in 2018 we focus on confidence and being more... ourselves.

‘The new year doesn’t have to be about giving something up,’ she wrote to her fans on social media. ‘We spend so much of our time giving up a little bit of us so we can fit in.’

She then added: ‘If there isn’t a space for you to fit, elbows out, chest puffed, make room, don’t give anything of YOU up! Not one tiny bit.’

Fans tweeted the presenter and author back, saying how much they admired her positive take and with plans to try new hobbies or get back into old ones.

Now that's something we can all get behind for 2018.
