So, Victoria season two is over (sad face) which means we’re waiting excitedly to find out what’s in store next for the Queen, Prince Albert and the rest of the royal houseold. In the near future we know a Christmas special is happening, but beyond that, our attention is firmly on season three.

While not a lot has been said about the future of the show up until this point, Daisy Goodwin revealed to Goodhousekeeping.co.uk and other press that season three is indeed happening and spoke about what she has planned.

‘There will be drama and intrigue and babies and there might be revolutions in Europe,’ Daisy said.

What to read next

‘It starts in 1848 which is a very exciting time,’ the writer added.

We’ve had a quick rifle through the history books and can confirm that 1848 was the year Victoria and her family left London for the safety of a private estate on the Isle of Wight due to threat from revolutionaries.

Victoria season two

Sounds pretty dramatic...

When asked how she finds writing drama based on historical fact (meaning a quick Google search can tell viewers what happens next in the life of Victoria) Daisy dropped an intruiging bombshell.

‘You don’t know when [the series is] going to end. You don’t know whether [series three] is going to be the series where Albert dies,’ she quipped.

Nope, that cannot happen.

Well, that’s got us well and truly excited for the next season of Victoria. In the meantime, we’ll be re-watching series two when it comes out on DVD on 13th November.
