When it's your child's first day of school, you understandably take lots of pictures of your child in their new uniform. And the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are just the same, snapping an adorable photo of Prince William and Prince George on the steps of Kensington Palace.
Mimicking his father’s pose, Prince George is seen smiling at the camera with his hand in his pocket, his other hand being held by his father Prince William. The picture was taken by photographer Chris Jackson, shortly before George was driven to his new school, Thomas's in Battersea.
'The first day of school is an exciting time for any child, and it was great to see Prince George with a big smile on his face next to Dad, The Duke of Cambridge, ahead of their first school run together,' Jackson says.
Unfortunately, Kate was unable to attend the school run as she is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, severe morning sickness which can cause prolonged nausea and vomiting, dehydration and low blood pressure.
Instead Prince William drove George the 3 mile journey from their home to the school in Battersea.
Princess Charlotte is due to start nursery school this year too, before attending primary school like her brother in 2020. And the royal household is set to get one person bigger as it was revealed this week that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with the couple’s third child.
