Fans of the BBC’s hit series Sherlock will be pleased to hear the brains behind the show – Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss – are in talks to bring Bram Stoker’s Dracula to the small screen.
The pair plan to create a series of 90-minute specials based on Stoker’s 1897 gothic novel about creepy Count Dracula, who travels from the Transylvanian empire to England in search of new blood.
As it’s early days, no one has yet been cast as Dracula and the scripts have yet to be written, reports Radio Times, but the show is due to air in 2019.
Also unknown at this point is whether the show will be set in the 19th century or in the present day, as Sherlock is.
If Moffat and Gatiss cast a well-known actor in the role of Dracula, it won’t be the first time the role has been played by notable talent.
