Why do you wear makeup?
From the artistry of applying makeup to self expression through cosmetics, we’re sure there are a plethora of reasons to sit down each morning and dab on foundation.
But according to a new survey from YouGov, a staggering 63% of men believe the sole reason women use beauty products is to trick them into believing we’re more attractive than we really are.
Yes, you did read that correctly.
However what’s perhaps even more surprising is that 47% of women agreed.

While many women blamed this on unrealistic expectations of beauty, men were less convinced, with only 30% agreeing we’re influenced by images of beautiful women.
The survey, which gathered answers from 5855 men and women, also revealed that we don’t feel the same when it comes to beards.
Only 34% of women felt that a man grew facial hair in order to ‘trick them’, while the rest felt that hiding a less than chiselled jawline had nothing to do with deception.
