Those who enjoyed the most recent series of ITV’s Endeavour – which came to an end yesterday evening – will be pleased to hear the show is already set to return for a fifth series, only this time with a difference.
ITV has announced that the show's upcoming installment will consist of six feature-length films (increased from four episodes in the most recent series), starring Sean Evans as a young Endeavour Morse and Roger Allam as senior officer Detective Inspector Fred Thursday.

The drama, spun off one of the country’s most iconic and beloved detective shows, has enjoyed much success since it began in 2012, pulling in favourable ratings for its series four premiere which aired on the 30th anniversary of Inspector Morse being broadcast on ITV.
Endeavour’s executive producer, Tom Mullens said, ‘We’re delighted that Endeavour will return next year with another set of striking stories from Russell Lewis and once again it’s an honour to have Shaun Evans and Roger Allam on board, bringing Morse and Thursday exquisitely to life in the ‘revolutionary’ world of 1968.’

Series five of the programme is due to air in 2018 – so there’s a little time to wait for Morse fans eager to see lots more of the young detective at work. Something to look forward to, don't you agree?
