A lot of us dream of moving to beautiful coastal resorts once we retire, but what exactly can your money get you by the seaside?
In Halifax's Seaside Town Review, the eight most expensive UK seaside resorts to live in have been revealed, with Sandbanks in Dorset being the most expensive thanks to the average house price being £665,000.
Salcome in Devon is second with the average home costing £539,950, followed by Padstow in Cornwall with house prices averaging £443,396.

The least expensive seaside resort is Port Bannatyne on Scotland's Isle of Bute, where you can snap up a house for around £77,132.

Port Bannatyne is the cheapest seaside resort in the UK to live in
'Seaside towns are highly popular places to live, offering sought-after scenery, weather and lifestyle which no doubt come at a price,' says housing economist Martin Ellis according to the BBC. 'They also attract those looking for holiday properties, which add upward pressure on house prices.'
