A new survey has revealed the 15 things that annoy our friends on social media, text messages and emails the most.
The study, conducted by BT Mobile and Oxford University, looked into the big dos and don’ts of tech etiquette and came up with a definitive list on how to behave online.
Coming in at the top spot, the research suggests avoiding over-sharing on Facebook if you want to avoid irritating your friends.

The points also says if a friend is a good friend, you should wish them happy birthday by text, as well as Facebook.
The research found that the average user spends a staggering four hours and 12 minutes socialising online everyday and has a circle of 178 social media friends.

The golden rules of tech etiquette
1) Don't 'over share' on Facebook
2) Never send a text or message in anger
3) Never send a text or message when drunk
4) Never post to social media when drunk
5) Don't post to social media when emotional
6) Be careful when hitting 'reply all' to a group message, if gossiping about someone
7) Don't look through your partner's phone
8) If a friend is a good friend, wish them happy birthday by text as well as Facebook message
9) Always text or message if you're going to be late for a social arrangement
10) Never end a relationship by text or social media
11) Don't chat someone up via LinkedIn or any professional platform
12) Don't ever text bad news, always call
13) Don't put kisses on texts or emails to clients or work colleagues
14) Don't gossip about people on text or social media
15) Always call work (the boss) rather than text if you are going to be off sick
