Picture the scene, you’re walking round an art gallery, lose concentration for just a second and suddenly find yourself tripping up into a 350-year-old painting worth £1 million pounds. And punching through it with your hand. Talk about worst-case scenario.
But this is what happened to a 12-year-old boy who was visiting the 'Images of a Genius' exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan with his family.
And it was captured on surveillance camera…
However, as you can see by his stunned reaction, it was a complete accident and his family are not being asked to pay for the restoration of the Paolo Porpora oil painting of flowers he just ripped.
Curator of the exhibition, Andrea Rossi, curator of the exhibition, described the boy as being nervous, but added that she did not want him to be blamed for the accident, which of course is fully insured so will be fully restored.
