Princess Anne attended two services of commemoration yesterday (25 April) to mark the Anzac Day of Commemoration and Thanksgiving. The Princess Royal's husband - Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence - joined her for the occasion.
Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives serving in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence marked the day of remembrance by attending a dawn service at Wellington Arch and and an afternoon service at Westminster Abbey on behalf of The Royal Family. The Princess Royal wore a purple outfit and matching hat with her medal collection on display.
As part of the day, she also laid wreaths at both the Australian and New Zealand War Memorials, and signed a Book of Remembrance. At the services, she spent time talking to the High Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand, too.
Earlier last week, Princess Anne visited three hospitals in Gloucestershire to thank NHS workers for their hard work over the coronavirus pandemic. As part of the visits, she chatted with NHS staff and opened a memorial garden to remember those who tragically lost their lives to COVID-19.
The Princess has resumed conducting her royal duties after the sad passing of her father, Prince Philip. Members of the public have been commenting on her outstanding work ethic despite such difficult circumstances.
