Prince George's seventh birthday on Wednesday (22 July) has been marked with the release of a brand new photo of him, shared on the official @KensingtonPalace Instagram account late on Tuesday (21 July) evening ahead of his big day.
As has become traditional with the young royals' birthdays, the lovely picture was taken by his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge.
In the sweet snap, George looks so grown-up as he grins widely at the camera while wearing a khaki polo, and with his blond hair swept to the side. The seven-year-old's cotton shirt looks very much like it could be a £7.99 piece from high street brand Mango.

The accompanying caption reads: "Sharing a 📸 taken by The Duchess ahead of Prince George’s seventh birthday tomorrow!" followed by a balloon emoji.
The post has unsurprisingly proved hugely popular with royal fans, who have inundated it with likes and birthday messages to the young prince.
A second birthday photo of George, again taken by mum Kate earlier this month, has also been released.
In it, the smiling prince appears to be out and about on a walk, this time wearing a camouflage T-shirt.
