The Duke of Sussex has followed in his late-mum's footsteps this morning (27 Sept), visiting a site that was once an Angolan minefield site on day five of the royal tour.
Harry visited the exact location Princess Diana did in 1997, when the area was a de-mining site.
The Duke wore protective armour and a visor, similar to what Diana wore to visit the site.
The photos of Diana on the de-mining site became iconic as she campaigned to create a global mining ban, which came later that year in the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
Harry was photographed in the same location as his mother was, which has come a long way since 1997. The area is now a busy street, with schools, shops and houses, highlighting the benefits of the de-mining initiative.
Following his visit to the area, Harry met with representatives from the three de-mining organisations working in Angola.
Later this evening, the Duke will attend a Reception at the British Ambassador’s Residence. Harry will meet business representatives and learn about Angola’s economic transformation and business landscape.
