Meghan, who joined the royal family at a Buckingham Palace event celebrating the Prince of Wales yesterday, was dressed in a casual daytime outfit. She paired black skinny jeans with a matching t-shirt, a navy blazer and black stilettos for the unannounced appearance.

Speaking as President of The Queen’s Commonwealth, which champions young leaders, Harry cited a "favourite quote" of Meghan's from Martin Luther King Jr. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that," he told the audience.

Earlier in the speech, Harry said: "You don’t judge someone based on how they look, where they’re from, or how they identify. In this room, you see the world for what it is – vibrant, colourful, mixed and full of promise. That is who you are, and that is what makes me feel proud to stand in your presence."

As Meghan arrived on stage, the prince ended with an inspiring message. "Change your thoughts and change the world. Dare to be the greatest generation of all time. I am with you, we are with you!"

It's been a busy week for royal engagements, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting Blackpool today. We'll next see Meghan join a panel at King's College London on Friday 8 March to discuss a range of issues affecting women today.
