Meghan Markle held her baby shower festivities in New York on Wednesday (20 February) for a small group of her friends, including stylist Jessica Mulroney, Suits actress Abigail Spencer, fashion designer Misha Nonoo and tennis star Serena Williams.

Among those to arrive for the event at The Mark Hotel was Daniel Martin, a makeup artist who made headlines when it was revealed he was responsible for the royal bride's makeup at her wedding last May.

Details from the exclusive gathering have remained top secret, but Martin has now given a rare glimpse inside the party. Sharing a photo of three iced cookies in the shape of a rattle, a stork and a baby's bib, he wrote: "Such an incredible day celebrating #babylove".

The sweet snap comes after Martin, who regularly posts about his royal friend, shared a photo of tea and avocado on toast that the Duchess had prepared for him back in January.

The baby shower-themed sweet treats were no doubt a hit with guests at the event, which reportedly included food from Jean-Georges and flower arrangement-making, according to royal correspondent Caroline Durand. The celebrations came to a close on Wednesday evening, when Markle was spotted leaving her hotel to return home to London.
