Touching archive footage of Prince Charles as a young child playing with the Queen has remerged as the royal celebrates his 70th birthday.
The two clips called Prince Charles at Home, and filmed in 1949 and 1950, were produced by Her Majesty, who was then known as Princess Elizabeth, and directed by the late Michael Parker, Prince Philip's former Private Secretary and lifelong friend.
The film was shown to the public for the first time to the Queen's guests at a reception for the British Film industry in April 2013.
The black and white footage shows Charles as a toddler attempting to walk towards the Queen as she encourages him with building blocks.
Another clip features the then-young royal outside Buckingham Palace as the Queen waves to him from the window inside, while another heartwarming moment sees the monarch tickling and cuddling a giggling Charles as they sit on a sofa.
Prince Charles' milestone birthday has been celebrated in a number of ways, including the release of two previously unseen portraits of the royal family by Clarence House.
The heir to the throne is pictured sitting on a bench surrounded by his closest family in the sweet images. They were taken by royal photographer Chris Jackson in the gardens of Charles' official residence, Clarence House, in London.
A recent BBC film also celebrated Charles' milestone birthday, and highlighted the royal's tireless campaigning for a cleaner environment over the last four decades.
The royal family are due to celebrate together on Wednesday night, when the Queen is expected to host a dinner for her son at Buckingham Palace.
