The deer rut, one of England's great natural spectacles, starts in mid to late September and lasts until the end of October. The New Forest Deer Safari (newforestsafari.co.uk) runs a 30-minute guided tractor and trailer tour on Sundays from noon until 5pm in Burley Park.
