Don’t miss the return of BBC One's critically acclaimed drama, The Village which returns to our TV screens for its second series.
The epic six-parter, follows the lives, loves, deaths, turbulent times and changes of a village in the Peak District throughout the 20th century.
The new series, starring Maxine Peake, John Simm and Julian Sands moves on from the First World War to the roaring 1920s and the Jazz Age.
It is written by Bafta-winning writer Peter Moffat who also penned BBC One’s legal thriller, Criminal Justice.
He says: ‘One of the major themes of the second series is the land and what it means to the people who live and work on it. The heartbreakingly beautiful countryside is the 29th character in The Village and arguably it's the biggest role.’
The Village starts on Sunday 10th August at 9pm on BBC One.
