After Tesco bosses penned what has now become known as the best response to a complaint a letter ever in the style of William Shakespeare, it seems they’ve adopted an in-store pet too!

Meet Mango the cat, who despite having his own home and owner nearby, comes to Tesco’s Tiverton store every day to nap among the non-food goods in the foyer.

On first-name terms with most staff and customers, Mango even has is own Facebook page (set up by a customer whose children love the moggy), and a private kennel on the grounds of the Tesco store.

‘Mango is very welcome and much loved by our customers in Tiverton,’ a Tesco spokesperson has said. ‘He is often seen in our foyer and we have invested in a kennel for him to make him feel more comfortable.’

We know there’s a Tesco much closer to us, but we’re now considering a trip to the Tiverton store anyway!
