The latest Royal Mail Christmas collection depicts five festive tableaux, including carol singers, a family shopping for a Christmas tree and ice skating. It is illustrated by artist Andrew Bannecker.
2. Christmas 2013
As well as releasing a set of diverse Madonna and Child stamps, in 2013 the Royal Mail also launched a design competition for children. Rosie Hargreaves’ singing Angels was one of the winning drawings.
3. Christmas 2012
In 2012, cheery festive robins, reindeer, Christmas trees and even Santa decked our stamps, courtesy of children’s illustrator Axel Scheffler.

Japanese digital illustrator Tatsuro Kiuchi provided these frosty Winter scenes in 2006.
5. Christmas 1983
The Royal Mail Christmas 1983 stamps were a traditional affair, featuring Christmas doves, the three kings and a World at Peace design by Tony Meeuwissen.
6. Christmas 1977
The stamps of Christmas 1977 counted down the 12 days of Christmas with beautiful designs by David Gentleman. Our favourite is the partridge in the pear tree.
