When it comes to fitness advice, who better to turn to than Davina McCall? That was our thinking anyway, when we asked her work with us on a fitness challenge that would keep us all moving this October – and that everyone could get involved in. And when we say it's the easiest way to boost your health this autumn, we mean it.

This October, we’re inviting you to join Good Housekeeping and Davina for 31 days of fun, feelgood movement - no equipment, no gym, no pressure - just daily doses of moving, stretching and squatting to lift your mood! Whether you’re a fitness newbie or a pro, this challenge is for everyone. The goal? Five minutes of each movement every day – simply choose level one or two, based on your fitness.

All you need is a mat or a towel and your favourite playlist. Sign up to GH’s Good Life newsletter here and you’ll receive Davina McCall’s 5-Minute Move-It Challenge workout plan, which you can use to follow along. You can also go to the GH Instagram page @goodhousekeepinguk to find Davina’s guided tutorials. Trust us when we say she provides all the inspiration you’ll need!

Here's how to make the most of your 5-Minute-Move It Challenge:

  1. Use your planner to follow along – after downloading the planner digitally, as a print out, or you can also find it on page 16 of Good housekeeping October issue.
  2. Check the Good life newsletter every Sunday for your weekly update.
  3. Go to the GH Instagram page @goodhousekeepinguk every Wednesday to find Davina’s guided video tutorials and some motivation from the GH team.

At GH, we practice what we preach, and we’ll be doing the 5-Minute Move-It Challenge with you – so do keep an eye on the GH social media channels, where we’ll be sharing how we’re getting on… sweaty faces and all! We’ll also be sharing some tips from Davina along the way – and the first is this: make sure you’ve got your playlist sorted.

Top of Davina’s own playlist? You Can Do It by Canadian DJ Dan Snaith, aka Caribou. “I might cry,” says Davina when she plays it for us. “I listened to this track right before I went into my operation,” she adds, referring to the surgery she had in November 2024 to remove a benign brain tumour. If that’s not motivation, we’re not sure what is!
