“A darker Yellowstone”: Demi Moore gets “meaner” in Landman’s “stormy” series 2

Yellowstone fans, get ready! A second series of Taylor Sheridan's "other" hit series Landman is on the way and it's set to seriously shake up our evenings! If you're not familiar with the series, the Paramount+ drama is what we'd describe as a darker Yellowstone - an intoxicating window into the oil industry in Texas featuring cutthroat billionaires and resentful rig workers. And, excitingly, the second instalment is looking more gripping than ever, with Demi Moore reprising her role as Cami Miller - and we can expect her to be meaner than ever.

Set amid the southern US oil boom, Landman follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a crisis manager for oil company M-Tex. What is Landman about?

Set in the glamorous world of oil barons in Texas, the 10-episode, first series of Landman follows tycoon Monty Miller (Jon Hamm) and his wife Cami (Demi Moore) who head up the fictional company M-Tex. When a fatal accident on an oil patch causes a lawyer to begin investigating corporate negligence at the company, the pair begin to tighten their grip on things.

Landman is packed with characters attempting to get rich quick, alongside shady dealings and exploitation. It’s a drama that has everything from emotional family moments to explosive rig scenes - and has an ‘upstairs/downstairs’ feel, focusing on both the high-powered boardroom execs and field crews - plus dangerous cartel entanglements.

What will happen in Landman series 2?

Series 1 of Landman culminated with a major power shift (we won’t give away any more information in case you’re yet to catch up!) But let’s just say that this event sets up the juicy conflict for the follow-up series. We’ll see Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) accruing more power, and alongside him, Cami (Demi Moore) rises to gain influence in the corporate world - and, as she announces during a big presentation, she’s even meaner than her husband.

Sam Elliott, who starred in Yellowstone spin-off 1883 as Shea Brennan, is also joining the cast as the mysterious T.L. Meanwhile the cartel presence – headed up by Gallino (Andy Garcia) continues to loom, and the Norris family continues to provide the drama – especially as one of them decides to start up a rival firm…

Yes - it’s engrossing and thoroughly addictive, blending oil industry drama with soap opera thrills! Critics and viewers have called it “absolutely packed with zingers”, “wild” and “hilarious”. Billy Bob Thornton scooped a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Tommy Norris. Demi Moore is also brilliant in it.
