The Princess of Wales has surprised us all with a new personal video, which she released across her official social media channels. The project is an ode to 'Mother Nature' and, in it, The Princess reveals an uplifting 'to-do list' for the summer.

The video opens with shots of fields, trees, bees, flowers and fruit picking. We see rain lashing against leaves, children running through the grass, dogs playing on the sand and people swimming in lakes. There are a range of moments showing people relaxing together, playing, dancing and enjoying each other's company.

Over the sunlit video, is Kate's gentle narration. She says that summer is an opportunity to reflect on 'our own potential for growth' and a 'time to ignite our inner fire and explore our creativity passion and dreams.' She emphasises the importance of family, friends and community, and how we should come together for 'playing, connecting and being present'.

'Open your hearts, sing dance, play,' urges The Princess. 'The days are still long so simply love and be loved.' Kate reminds us that there is 'joy to be found in even the most fleeting of moments.'

In a caption signed with her initial (which shows that the message has been written by her personally, rather than a member of her team), The Princess says, 'Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship. It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer. C'

Earlier this month, Kate shared another important video, this time from The Shaping Us initiative, at The Royal Foundation for Early Childhood. The project is one close to The Princess' heart and the latest advancement is a series of animations. The animations have been 'designed to be used by people who work with babies, children and families' and they explore 'how early brain development is influenced by the relationships babies and young children experience every day.'
