Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh is no stranger to a midi shirt dress, and her latest summer staple features one of her boldest prints yet. During a poignant visit to Wiltshire, The Duchess wore a striking short sleeved dress featuring a pink and green bunting pattern, and a cinching waist tie.
The good news is that Sophie's exact dress is still in stock (at time of writing) online - and it's currently 40% off in the sale. The midi is the 'Nancy - Bunting' dress by LexyLondon and is reduced from £220 to £132 right now. It's currently available in sizes 6 to 16, although some sizes are beginning to sell out already...
The Duchess was in Wiltshire to meet a very special veteran, ahead of the 80th anniversary of VJ Day. Sophie was visiting 105-year-old former Royal Marine, James 'Jim' Wren at his care home in Salisbury.
'Mr Wren survived the sinking of HMS Repulse in 1941 and was later a Prisoner of War for three and a half years, having been captured whilst escaping from Singapore in February 1942,' explained the Royal Family in an official post, sharing photographs from the day.
In the images, The Duchess is seen shaking hands with Mr Wren, who is decorated with his beret and medals, while a black and white shot shows the veteran as a young man in full uniform. The special visit is linked to Sophie's work as Patron of The Java Far East Prisoner of War Club 1942.
Other photos from the day reveal The Duchess sharing an emotional moment with Mr Wren, and a portrait of the veteran which hangs in the care home, and was commissioned by The King.
