It was a mother-daughter moment for pregnant comedian Katherine Ryan as she attended a premiere with her daughter, Violet. Violet is Katherine's oldest child and the pair stepped out together for a screening on Freakier Friday in London on Thursday (31 July).

Katherine looked stunning in a mirrored turquoise gown for the occasion, adding a pearlescent pink clutch bag and a sweep of red lipstick. Her teenage daughter Violet, on the other hand, went for a black cut-out dress with a gold clutch bag and beachy waves.

The mother-daugther outing to Freakier Friday was an apt choice, as the film sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reunite as mother and daughter in the sequel to their iconic 2003 release, Freaky Friday. In the previous film, Jamie's character Tess swaps bodies with her daughter Anna, so the pair can experience living in each other's shoes. The new movie picks up 22 years later, when Anna is now a mother herself to a teenager, Harper.

What to read next

As Anna prepares to get married and become stepmother to another teen - Lily - she hopes her bachelorette party will bring all the women of the family together. Of course, things don't go quite how she imagines, when Tess, Lily, Harper and Anna end up in a four-way body swap.

With the teens now appearing to be Anna and Tess, they decide to try and sabotage their parents' relationship and call off the wedding. Cue Chad Michael Murray, who is reprising his role as Jake, Anna's motorbike-riding love interest from the original film.

Freakier Friday will launch in cinemas across the UK from 8 August
