Wimbledon is a staple of British summertime. Strawberries, cream and sunshine - what could be more perfect? Well, actually, there may be a tad too much sunshine at the moment, with temperatures climbing into the 30s in London. This means catching the action on centre-court may be more than a little warm.
One duo who've found a way to tackle the heat, however, are Cate Blanchett and her mum June, who were spotted at Wimbledon on Tuesday (1 July). They've found a way to make the most practical accessory of the season blend a little more seamlessly with their stylish looks: colour co-ordinated portable fans.
Cate and June aren't alone - portable fans are this week's must-have accessory, carried by everyone from high street pedestrians to Hollywood stars. Courtside, Cate wore a white, grey and pale blue checked suit which she paired with a white hand-held fan, while mum June wore a grey-green striped jacket over a tee, choosing her own portable fan in a matching shade of sage. It looks like they both could be using the John Lewis fan - which we judged the best budget portable fan during GHI testing:
Sitting next to Cate and her mum was Hollywood actor Rebel Wilson in a pink broderie dress, while Alexander Armstrong was spotted in front of them.
Cate and June aren't the only mother-child duo at Wimbledon; David Beckham brought his mum Sandra along for day one of the tennis. While the pair didn't bringing matching fans, they did wear co-ordinating cream blazers.
The Championships 2025 takes place from Monday 30 June to Sunday 13 July at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club in Wimbledon, London.
