Another year, another long weekend of music and merriment at Worthy Farm. But as 80-year-old Sir Rod Stewart rocked the famous 'legends' slot on the Pyramid Stage, it was his wife Penny Lancaster who caught our eye. Remaining discreetly side-stage and behind the performers, Penny could be seen proudly recording her husband on her phone during the show, and taking photos with a professional camera.
Sir Rod also made a sweet gesture to his wife, pointing off-stage with a smile as he sang the line, "I still want you by my side" during a rendition of First Cut is the Deepest. Special guests who joined Sir Rod for the performance included Lulu and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.
The octogenarian star wore three different suits - a monochrome bold pink suit and shirt, a similar look in vibrant green and then a pair of pinstriped trousers paired with a jacket embellished with gold detailing, worn over a frill-lined shirt.
The set ran for nearly an hour and a half and the set-list included big hitters like Maggie May as well as much-loved covers. Other headline names performing at Glastonbury this year included The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, Olivia Rodrigo, Charlie XCX, Doechii, Loyle Carner and Scissor Sisters, along with many more.
Glastonbury Festival takes place annually, but a break every five years to allow the grounds to recover means there will be no Glastonbury 2026. The festival should return for 2027.
