Pamela Anderson has opened up about the 'wild ride' she experienced after posing for Playboy magazine for the first time, during what she refers to as 'the blurry years'. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK, Pamela discussed the highs and lows of fame, the impact it had on her family life, and her personal and professional renaissance.

The Baywatch star was catapulted to fame after appearing on the cover of Playboy magazine in 1989. 'I went straight to the Playboy Mansion, I met all these people, and then, you know, life just kept going,' said Pamala. 'I call them the blurry years. I just went on this crazy, wild ride that I had no control over.'

After a home video was stolen and distributed as a sex tape, Pamela retreated from the spotlight. ‘I knew that I had more to give, but I thought, “Oh well, not in this lifetime, I guess,”' she said. Pamela also explained how she tried to shield her children from the tabloid gossip.

What to read next

'They’d be like, “Are you Pamela Anderson? What is that? The kids are saying all these things about you, Mom.” You want to share things with your children age-appropriately, but they always found out before. I mean, what could be worse than what happened to their father and me?’ she told Harper's Bazaar.

Now, Pamela lives on Vancouver Island where she has spent the last few years rediscovering herself. ‘I wanted to remember who I was, so I went back to where the trees have known me since birth. I rewrote my life and literally replanted my garden to see what would grow,' said Pamela, who often shares insight into her gardening efforts on social media. 'Sometimes when you think it’s the end, it’s really the beginning. That’s what it was for me.’

Pamela's next project will see her star in the forthcoming film, The Naked Gun, which she says will 'show a different side' of her. 'Every film I do lately is healing various parts of me. And you need a big, messy life to draw from if you want to make these kinds of things interesting.'
